Lille, France, France
The Jardin botanique de la Faculté de Pharmacie (also formally called the Jardin de la Faculté des Sciences Pharmaceutiques et Biologiques de l'Université de Lille 2) is a botanical garden and arboretum in Lille, France, operated by the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Université de Lille 2.
Located at 3 Rue du Professeur Laguesse, it covers about 2 hectares and was established in 1970 when the Faculty of Pharmacy moved to its current location. The garden functions as a living classroom for pharmacy students, featuring organized sections of medicinal plants, systematic collections, and greenhouses that showcase hundreds of plant species used in pharmaceutical and medical applications.
It includes an arboretum with over 80 remarkable tree species added since 1985, aquatic plant basins, conifer zones, and rare varieties like Poncirus trifoliata, making it one of three botanical gardens in Lille alongside the Jardin des Plantes de Lille and the Jardin botanique Nicolas Boulay. The garden is open weekdays except during university holidays with an admission fee, and offers guided tours from spring to autumn for visitors interested in medicinal plants and their applications.
