Les Jardins de Coursiana is a 6-hectare botanical garden and arboretum located at the foot of La Romieu, a picturesque village in Gascony, France, famous for its UNESCO-listed collegiate church.

Created in 1974 by renowned French botanist Gilbert Cours-Darne, the estate is officially classified as a “Jardin Remarquable” (Remarkable Garden) and features four distinct gardens: an English-style garden, a family vegetable patch, an arboretum with over 700 tree and shrub species from five continents, and a garden of medicinal and aromatic plants including more than 350 rose varieties.

The garden is open to visitors from mid-April to late October, offering both self-guided and guided tours, and includes an on-site nursery (“pépinière”) selling plants, a boutique with homemade products, and a tea salon (“salon de thé”) serving sorbets made from the orchard’s fruit. Admission is 8.50€ for adults, and the site lies along one of the Gascon routes to Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle, making it a peaceful, colorful stop for nature lovers and pilgrims alike.
