Montafilan is a historic castle site located near Corseul in Brittany, northwestern France.

Built between the 12th and 13th centuries by a branch of the powerful Dinan family, the fortress occupied a strategic position on a rocky hill surrounded by valleys, marshland, and defensive ditches. The castle was an important medieval stronghold and later became associated with Françoise de Dinan, a notable noblewoman and tutor to Anne of Brittany.

Over time, the fortress was abandoned, and much of it fell into ruin, with some of its stone being reused in other buildings. Today, visitors can explore the atmospheric ruins, including portions of the walls and surviving towers. The site is protected as a historic monument and offers a fascinating glimpse into Brittany’s medieval past amid a peaceful natural setting.
