The Musée du Château des Rohan is located inside the impressive Château des Rohan in the center of Saverne, Alsace. Housed in a grand 18th-century neoclassical palace that once served as a residence for the bishops of Strasbourg, the museum combines history, art, and archaeology in a remarkable historic setting. The museum is especially known for its rich collections of Gallo-Roman and medieval artifacts, including one of the largest collections of ancient stone monuments in Alsace. It also features sections devoted to local art and history, as well as the life and work of journalist, politician, and European pioneer Louise Weiss, who donated important collections to the museum.
