Pouancé Castle, located in Pouancé, France, is a medieval fortress dating back to at least the 11th century, with construction starting likely between the late 12th and early 13th centuries.

It was built as a strategic defense on the border between the historic provinces of Anjou and Brittany, often called the "second castle of Anjou" after Angers Castle. The castle played a crucial role in the conflicts of the Middle Ages, especially during the Hundred Years' War, undergoing several sieges and expansions to accommodate artillery defenses like bastions, caponiers, and towers.

It features well-preserved medieval architecture including machicolations and cannoniers. After a decline in military importance following Brittany's annexation to France in the 16th century, the castle fell into ruin but has been partially restored. Today, it remains a significant historic monument open for visitors, symbolizing the turbulent history of the Breton-Anjou frontier.
