Quiberon
France, France
Quiberon is a seaside town at the tip of a narrow peninsula in southern Brittany, western France, in the department of Morbihan.
It lies on the Atlantic coast, connected to the mainland by a very slim strip of land and surrounded by long sandy beaches on one side and a more rugged, cliff‑lined “wild coast” on the other. The area is best known as a popular summer holiday destination for French families, with safe swimming bays, watersports, and seaside restaurants serving local seafood.
Quiberon also has a rich maritime history, once being a major sardine‑fishing and canning port and later serving as a memorable base for a failed royalist invasion during the French Revolution, while today it draws visitors for its mix of beaches, coastal walks, and easy access to nearby islands like Belle‑Île‑en‑Mer.
