Septmonts is a small commune located in the Aisne department of the Hauts-de-France region in northern France. It has a modest population of around 570 residents and covers an area of about 4.8 square kilometers.

The village is notable for the remains of the Château de Septmonts, particularly its 14th-century donjon or keep, which was the country seat of the Bishop of Soissons since the late 12th century. The donjon, standing 43 meters tall, combines military and residential architectural features typical of the late 14th century and is currently undergoing restoration.

In addition to the donjon, the site includes ditches, walls, remains of a 13th-century hall, a Renaissance bishop's palace, and surrounding orchard and arboretum areas. Septmonts also has a 15th-century church in the flamboyant style. The château and its grounds are open to visitors, reflecting the village’s historical heritage and rural charm in northern France.

The village lies within a gently elevated landscape and is part of an intercommunal organization supporting the wider Soissons area.
