Tours is the largest city in the Centre-Val de Loire region and the historic capital of Touraine, located on the Loire River in western France.

Known for its rich history, elegant architecture, and vibrant cultural scene, it serves as a major gateway to the famous Loire Valley châteaux. The city has roots dating back to Roman times, when it was known as Caesarodunum, and it later became an important religious and political center. Tours is also associated with the famous Battle of Tours in 732 and with Saint Martin, one of France's most revered saints.
