The Mycenaean Acropolis of Tiryns is one of the most important archaeological sites in the Peloponnese and was a major center of the Mycenaean civilization during the Late Bronze Age, especially between 1400 and 1200 BC.

It is famous for its enormous “Cyclopean” stone walls, which were so massive that ancient Greeks believed only mythical giants could have built them. Located near modern Nafplio, Tiryns was a powerful fortified city with a royal palace, defensive tunnels, and an advanced urban layout.

In Greek mythology, it is closely associated with the hero Heracles, who was said to have carried out his famous labors from there. Today, the site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, together with nearby Mycenae, recognized for its outstanding architecture and its importance in the development of ancient Greek culture.
