Zagori is a mountainous region in the Epirus area of northwestern Greece, famous for its 46 traditional stone villages known as Zagorochoria.

Nestled in the rugged Pindus Mountains, these villages are connected by a network of ancient stone bridges, footpaths, and staircases, many dating back to the Ottoman period, which give the region a fairy-tale character. The landscape is marked by deep forests, high peaks, and impressive gorges like the Vikos Gorge, which is part of a national park and renowned for its dramatic natural beauty.

The villages are built with traditional stone architecture centered around village squares with large plane trees, churches, and public fountains, preserving a historic way of life largely untouched by mass tourism.

Zagori offers numerous outdoor activities, including hiking to remote mountain lakes, rafting on the Voidomatis River, and enjoying the peaceful, pristine environment. It is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its unique cultural landscape that harmoniously blends human habitation and nature in a mountainous setting.​
